TANYA (Owner and Executive Stylist)
Cut & colour specialist – Experienced in all aspects of hairdressing.
Advanced haircutting and colouring techniques, including large colour changes and colour corrections, that are customized for each client, including balayage/ombre & root melts.
Tanya
I grew up on a small farm and spent my summers on the beach at Mangawhai Heads. I moved to Auckland to follow my passion and many years on, it is still my passion! I love my clients, the creativity and the challenge.
My love for creating beautiful hair and sharing my knowledge and skills with other stylists has only grown over the years.
Hairdressing is a lifestyle. It’s how I’ve formed lifelong friendships and made many wonderful memories. I get a buzz out of staying up to date with current industry trends, products and techniques and I understand the importance of constantly advancing our skillset.
We have 2 sons, 2 Labradors, 2 crazy cats. I love spending time with my family, friends, camping, boating, cooking & gardening.

Brooke (Senior Stylist)
Brooke is a superstar and has been Hairdressing since 2015.
She loves maintaining and creating new looks for her clients, styles, colours and colour changes, that are custom made to each client she works with.

What I love most about being involved in hairdressing is seeing the amazing transformations we can create, and the happiness of clients afterwards.
In my spare time I’m a bit of an advocate for the climate, and for the animals, I love to travel when I can, and spend time with my loved ones whilst always having lots of fun! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Rosa
Rosa (Executive Stylist)

Rosa
Born and raised in South Africa. In 2008, Rosa decided NZ was the place for her, jumped on a plane with her guitar, camera and paintbrushes and started a new life.
Rosa started hairdressing in South Africa in 2006 as a salon assistant. When she came to NZ, Toogees was meant to be a fill in job while finding her way but styling seeped into her bones, and before she knew it, she had qualified as a hairdresser, here at Toogees. Just one more creative feather to her bow.
After qualifying, Rosa worked and managed other salons. During this time, she made the change to organic products. She is back with us now, as a self-employed contractor. Rosa is Master of Balayage accredited.

Rosa
Born and raised in South Africa. In 2008, Rosa decided NZ was the place for her, jumped on a plane with her guitar, camera and paintbrushes and started a new life.
Rosa started hairdressing in South Africa in 2006 as a salon assistant. Samantha (Qualified Stylist)
Sam completed her apprenticeship in 2022, loves all aspects of hairdressing but especially what we call Hollywood Hair - long glam styling, glossy colours and sun kissed balayages.
Sam takes special care to give you low maintenance easy carefree styles that are nice and easy to look after at home.

After being a hairdressing assistant for a few years, I started my apprenticeship early 2019.
I am enjoying working with clients with foiling techniques, cutting, and styling.
I'm looking forward to creating unique styles and meeting new people.
I love to make people feel beautiful. Makeup, Hair and Fashion have always been an outlet for this passion.
When I’m not at the Salon I enjoy spending time with friends, family (esp my little twin cousins), animals, gardening, travelling, and restoring furniture.

Gareth
Gareth (Master Haircutter)
One of the original owners of Toogees, precision hair cutting and styling.
Well-known in the community, Gareth and Glyn opened their first salon in Beach Haven back in 1973, fresh from London.
In '78 they opened a second salon, Toogees. They wanted the name of the salon to reflect the bond and teamwork between brothers, Gareth and Glyn.
Gareth handed the reins over to Tanya in 2015. He is still part of the team, loving what he does and his long-term clients who he says are more like friends after all these years.
In his free time, Gareth enjoys his beautiful, ever-expanding family, painting and gigs with his band which includes his brother Glyn and friends. The boys are still at it.

Rhi
Rhiannon (Apprentice)
Our awesome Rhi started her apprenticeship 2021. She has always dreamed of being a hairstylist and now she's on her way there!
Rhi loves styling and colouring beautiful hair and is learning something new every day.
She is training, so if you are happy to spend a bit longer to get your hair done, Toogees Training appointments are available on a Tuesday from 11am-2.30pm. Work with Rhi whilst she is under the supervision of our in-salon educators to create a look tailored just for you. Prices range from discounted to complimentary, depending upon products used, and level of training.

I’m excited to be doing my apprenticeship at Toogees, and I’m looking forward to learning more.
You’ll see me around the salon learning all the basics, from making great tasting coffees, to working with our stylists to create great hair, and reaping all the benefits of an amazing apprenticeship!
Toogees salon really has such a great personality – everyone is so thoughtful and supportive. It really is a wonderful place to learn and gain experience.

Linda (Nails and Beauty)
Linda has run her own successful Nail and Beauty business within Toogees since 2017.
Linda and her team have nail areas at the front of the shop, 2 luxurious Spa Pedicure massage chairs, and a private beauty room downstairs.
Many of our clients, who are time conscious, book in with Linda during their colour processing time.
We love Linda and her team, and so do her clients, from the happy looks as they walk out the door, to the screams of laughter.
